Actions:
Appointed Matt Whipple to a four-year term on the Zoning Board of Appeals.
Approved a Class A liquor license for MLQ MB Hotels 2011 LLC, an entity of the Archon Group LP, a Goldman Sachs company that Oct. 20 acquired Courtyard by Marriott hotel, 1801 Milwaukee Ave. The license permits the sale of alcoholic beverages for consumption on the premises with food service, the same license the hotel previously had been issued.
Heard a request from Youth Services of Glenview-Northbrook that it be granted a $110,000 special appropriations in the Village’s 2012 budget, $10,000 more than was appropriated this year.
Awarded a $41,472 contract to Continental Construction Co. of Evanston to remove and resurface the floor in the Public Works Department’s Water Division and repair the epoxy floor in Fleet Services.
Awarded a $99,036 contract to F.E. Moran Inc. of Northbrook to install a new vehicle and welding exhaust system in the Public Works Department’s fleet garage.
Awarded a $54,160 contract to J & E Nursery Ltd of Libertyville to restore decorative landscaping at the intersections of Glenview and Greenwood roads and Golf and Shermer roads, following the completion of road work; and in The Glen Town Center.
Approved a final site plan review for a Chicago Lighthouse Vision Rehabilitation Center at 222 Waukegan Road, which allows the agency to add an accessible ramp to the main building and modifications to the parking lot to bring the facility into compliance with the Illinois Accessibility Code.

Actions:
Authorized a 10-year license agreement with Pace to maintain 11 shelters in the Village right-of-way to maintain 11 bus shelters for Pace patrons.
Approved a $43,300 contract with Paragon Micro and a $31,125 contract with CDS Office Technologies to replace computers and workstations.
Approved a $25,000 contract with MNJ Technologies of Buffalo Grove to purchase computer and networking equipment.
Approved a resolution to amend the Village’s 2011 budget to accommodate project-length budgeting for projects awarded in 2010 and constructed in 2011.
Amended the Vehicles and Traffic chapter of the Municipal Code to designate 10 parking spaces in the newly completed parking lot serving The Glen of North Glenview train station for use by Kent Fuller Air Station Prairie visitors. The designated spaces will be restricted to two-hour parking limits to deter Metra commuter parking. A final vote was scheduled Nov. 1.
Revised ordinances establishing 10 Special Service Areas to allow 29 residents to make one-time lump sum payments to complete their payment obligations.
Authorized an agreement to participate in the Illinois Public Works Mutual Aid Network, which allows its more than 100 members to provide and receive emergency assistance in the event of natural or man-made disasters or other situations that require action beyond a member’s normal capabilities. The Village’s annual dues will be $250.
Granted a commercial variation for Illinois Tool Works, 3600-3680 West Lake Ave. , to allow the installation of 22 parking lot identification and directional ground signs.
Approved the preliminary subdivision and final site plan for Shewchuck Agency, 1545 Waukegan Road, which include improving the parking lot and provides for a new curb cut onto Topp Lane.
Corrected the addresses for 2211-2215 Sanders Road in an ordinance approved in 2007 by the Board granting rezoning, final site plan review, associated variations and final subdivision for the property, to properly cite the maximum heights allowed for the five-story and 10-story buildings there.
Reviewed the property tax levy based on the Glenview Public Library Board’s proposed $6.8 million budget for fiscal year 2012, which is $403,000, or 6.3 percent, higher than the 2011 budget. The $5.694 million levy would allow the library to maintain a fund balance at 43 percent of the operations budget.
