Willow Road Study
A public hearing on the future of Willow Road through Northfield is scheduled from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, April 19, 2012 at New Trier High School's Northfield campus, 7 Happ Road, in the main cafeteria.
The open-house style public hearing will allow residents, business owners and others attending to view renderings of the "four lane with median" plan, the preferred alternative of the Illinois Department of Transportation's Community Advisory Group (CAG) that's been studying for two years how best to improve the 1.2-mile stretch of Willow Road, which causes bottlenecks and neighborhood cut-through traffic to the west in Glenview.
A pamphlet on the process and preferred alternative can be viewed here.
IDOT officials will be present to provide detailed information, answer questions and accept verbal or written comments.
This is the final step before IDOT officially begins the Phase II design process. The project is planned for construction in 2013.
