If you plan work that will change the use of a commercial building (i.e. change to a restaurant with outside grease-trap), or any sanitary sewer work in any public right-of-way, or other applicable development, you must obtain a permit from the Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Chicago (MWRD)
If you plan work that impacts a road owned and maintained by the state, you must obtain a permit from the Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT)
Are you planning work in an environmentally sensitive area? Contact the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency (IEPA)
If you plan work that impacts a road owned and maintained by Cook County, you must obtain a permit from the Cook County Highway Department (CCHD)
If you plan work in unincorporated Glenview, you must obtain a permit from the Cook County Building & Zoning Department
Any work to be done which impacts water quality, designated floodplains, or other applicable areas requires a permit from the Department of Natural Resources (DNR)
If you plan work in unincorporated Glenview and your work will impact a road owned and maintained by Northfield or MaineTownship, you must obtain a permit from Northfield Township or Maine Township,respectively.
Any work to be done which impacts a navigable waterway or wetland area or other applicable area requires a permit from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers
