- Please note that the "site development" permit issued by the Building & Zoning Division is NOT your permit to demolish a home or do any other work on the site. The "site development" permit is separate from the "demolition" and "new construction" permit(s) and cannot be used to commence work on-site. If you have further questions about this please call the Development Department at 847-904-4340.
- Remember, even if you are working in a public utility easement you must give any and all affected homeowners at least 48 HOURS notice of your intended work and complete full restoration of their property upon completion of your work.
- If you are disturbing more than one acre (1) of land during the course of your construction project, you must apply for an NPDES Phase II permit through the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency (IEPA). See our links section.
- ALL submittals (including Utility Companies) to the Engineering Division, whether they be plans, plats of survey or other, shall be made in triplicate to the permit clerks in the Development Department at Village Hall.
Are you proposing to teardown a home in unincorporated Glenview? In addition to the Site Plan Requirements 1 & 2, you must also contact the Village of Glenview Water Dept. at Public Works (847-657-3030) to schedule a final water meter reading and to have the meter removed before the home is demolished.
- If you have questions about licenses, bonds, or fees related to the permit process, please call the permit desk only at (847) 904-4340. The Engineering Division does not assess site development escrows or permit fees. The Engineering Division assesses parkway & street opening escrows and letters of credit related to commercial and subdivision development only.
- Questions about Single Lot Subdivisions (SLS) should be directed to the Village Planning Division and Jeff Rogers in particular: 847-904-4308.
- If you have questions regarding building issues (i.e. building setbacks, materials used in the construction of a home, building height restrictions, impervious lot coverage, certificate(s) of occupancy, or any variations of the above), please contact the Building & Zoning Division.
