Development Department

The mission of the Development Department is to protect property values and enhance and preserve the quality of life here in Glenview.
It does this through two divisions -- Inspectional Services and Planning.

Working closely with the Board of Trustees and four advisory groups -- the Appearance Commission, Plan Commission, Historic Preservation Commission, and Zoning Board of Appeals -- the Inspectional Services and Planning division manage commerical, industrial and residential development and land uses; ensure that homes and businesses are safe, of high quality, fit within the Village's overall planning and appearance requirements; ensure that local establishments (restaurants, food stores, day care centers, and many more) are free of health hazards, and keep Glenview's citizens safe and healthy.
