Part-Time Summer Help (Facilities Division) (#08-11)

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Village of Glenview is seeking one (1) temporary summer help position to assist the Capital Projects Department’s Facilities Division with various routine maintenance tasks and projects relating to Village-owned facilities. Duties include, but are not limited to: performing minor repairs to buildings, researching and procuring parts and supplies, painting, responding to employee work order requests, and parts running. Other related duties and projects as assigned. Position reports directly to the Facilities Manager.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Candidate must have a valid driver’s license and be at least 18 years of age at the time of application. Successful applicants will be dependable, have a strong work ethic, and be committed to providing outstanding service. Previous experience with small tools and performing routine maintenance is a plus. Occasional outdoor work is required, sometimes in adverse weather conditions. Hours are 8:00 am-4:00 pm, Monday –Friday; working overtime and weekends may be required from time to time. Job activities include frequent bending, lifting, reaching, standing, carrying, and pulling. Job requires exerting 20-50 lbs. occasionally; 10-25 lbs. frequently; or up to 10 lbs. constantly. Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a criminal background check, medical and drug screening.

SALARY/HOW TO APPLY:

Hourly Rate: $10.00/hr. This is a temporary, part-time position with no fringe benefits. Approximate dates of employment are May 2011 through August 2011.
