GLENVIEW ROAD TO REMAIN OPEN THROUGH LIBRARY PARKING DECK CONSTRUCTION
Early in March, 2011 the Village of Glenview alerted motorists about temporary downtown road closures due to construction work on the library parking deck. These were necessary as the library’s contractor needed to secure the area as it lifted 85,000-pound concrete slabs into place for the new deck.
But there’s good news! Late in March the contractor informed the Village that it would be able to perform this part of the work with less impact on the community – and over a shorter time period.
Here’s the udate:
- Glenview Road will now remain open throughout the construction period. (previously, it was scheduled to close between Harlem and Lincoln in late March/early April).
- Washington Street will now be closed between Prairie and Glenview Road from March 30 - April 8. As before, the contractor will maintain as much access as possible to driveways in this area during the closure.
