Like to learn more about what Glenview’s Police Department does? Interested in law enforcement? Consider taking part in our Citizen Police Academy. Set to kick off on Thursday, January 14, 2010, the Academy will include ten three-hour evening sessions (beginning at 6:30 p.m.) that focus on a wide variety of topics, including:
- Patrol function and responsibilities.
- How the Dispatch Center works.
- Handling traffic issues -- from speeding to accidents.
- The Investigations Unit, which focuses on, among other things, identity theft, burglary, juvenile crime and drug activity.
- Community relations.
- Police training.
- How our Crime Lab operates.
- And much, much more!
Classes will run through June 11. There is no fee to participate, but enrollment will be limited to a maximum of 30 participants -- and you'll need to complete an application and waiver form.
