Traffic

To reach the Police Department's Traffic Control Unit call (847) 729-5000.

The Village also has a Traffic Committee: a multi-disciplinary group of professionals comprised of members from the Engineering Division and Fire, Police and Public Works Departments, as well as the Village Manager's Office. The Committee meets regularly to review and investigate all requests or inquiries relating to traffic safety, including requests for the installation of traffic control devices. Recommendations made by the Committee will be based on law, the Manual of Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD), and other professional traffic engineering standards.

All traffic safety concerns must be submitted --- in writing --- to the attention of the Traffic Committee Chairperson. Clearly and explicitly outline the traffic safety issue, and include your name and address. Concerns may be sent to the Traffic Committee c/o the Village Manager's Office, 1225 Waukegan Road, Glenview, IL 60025, or faxed to (847) 724-1518. You can also call (847) 904-4370 or email cclark@glenview.il.us

Parking

Handicapped Parking

The Police Department has available temporary handicapped parking permits for those residents who are eligible. Applicants for the permit must submit an application form (click the link in this section) and medical certification that they have a disability of at least three months duration. The card is valid for three months from the date of issuance. All cards must be returned to the Police Department upon expiration. Call (847) 729-5000.

Overnight Parking Ban

Overnight parking between 2 a.m. and 6 a.m. is prohibited on all public streets in the Village from December 1 - March 31. This requirement facilitates snow plowing and public safety. In the event there is no means of off-street parking, on-street-parking permits may be granted upon application to the Glenview Police Department. For more information regarding on-street parking permits, please contact the Police Department at (847) 729-5000.
