Overnight Parking Ban Takes Effect December 1, 2010
Village code prohibits overnight parking (2-6 a.m.) within Glenview's corporate limits December 1, 2010 - April 1, 2011. The ban helps keep the roads safe, facilitating ice and snow removal on streets and intersections during and after snowstorms. There are two exceptions to the ban:
- Glenview residents lacking off-street parking are permitted to park overnight on the streets by obtaining a special permit from the Police Department. Permit expires April 1. If snow is in the forecast, cars with permits are encouraged to find off-street parking so that the plows can get through.
- Non-residents can obtain verbal permission to park overnight from the Police Department upon submission of the vehicle's license plate number, the state of registration, the address at which the vehicle will be parked and the last date for which permission is sought. However, permission won't be granted if snow is expected.
