Liquor License
The section of the Glenview Municipal Code,
Chapter 6, Article I: (Alcoholic Beverages: In General), should be carefully read and reviewed by the applicant prior to applying for a license.
The application process will take a minimum of six weeks, which allows for the background investigation to be completed after applicant is fingerprinted.
Existing liquor licenses are NOT transferrable, i.e., if a liquor license establishment is sold, the new owner must complete the Liquor License application process.
If there are any questions regarding the liquor license application process or regulations regarding the service of alcohol, please contact the Development Department at 847-904-4340. New applicants are required to undergo a police background investigation. The background investigation includes a fingerprint check through the Illinois State Police, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, and Chicago Crime Commission.
YOU MAY PROVIDE THE FOLLOWING AS INFORMATION ONLY – APPLICANT MUST SEE THE DEVELOPMENT DEPARTMENT PRIOR TO FINGERPRINTING. The Glenview Police Department located at 2400 East Lake Avenue, conducts fingerprinting. An appointment must be made for fingerprinting, there is a $44.00 fingerprinting fee for each applicant. Checks are to be made payable to the “Village of Glenview”. The fingerprinting fee must be paid when fingerprinting is done.
OTHER DOCUMENTS AND INFORMATION REQUIRED PRIOR TO ISSUANCE OF LICENSE: A. Articles of Incorporation
B. A copy of the Applicant’s Lease (if applicable)
C. Payment of the annual license fee
D. Basset Certificates for all owner(s), manager(s), servers, and pourers
