 Citizen Police Academy
Would you like to learn more about the Glenview Police Department?  Are you interested in law enforcement?  Consider taking part in our Citizen Police Academy.

Once per year, the department offers a group of participants a set of ten informational sessions, touching on...

  • Patrol functions and responsibilities
  • Dispatch operations
  • Traffic issues, from speeding to accidents
  • Investigations, which include identity theft, burglary, drug activity, juvenile crime, etc.
  • Crime lab operations
  • Community relations
  • Police training
  • Others
The sessions are three hours each, and they begin at 6:30 pm.  The sessions are free, but enrollment in the academy is limited to 30 participants.

To participate in the next academy (in 2014), please complete these forms (Application, Release), attach them to an e-mail, and send it to Sergeant Jeff Ader.  Alternatively, you may send them to Glenview Police Department, Attn: Sergeant Jeff Ader, 2500 East Lake Avenue, Glenview, IL 60026.  We will contact you with details a few weeks before it begins.
