Vacant House Watches

Glenview Police maintain a confidential file of homes vacant due to vacations or other reasons.  Please stop by the station or call 847-729-5000 to initiate a house watch.

Animal Control 

The Police Department's Officers and an Animal Control Officer  deal with the dangers and nuisances caused by wild or stray animals. The Village requires licensing of animals on a yearly basis with . The license year runs July 1st through June 30th. Applications for pet licenses are available at the Village Hall. The Village Ordinances include a leash law,  prohibiting any dog or dangerous, unruly, fierce, or mischievous animal running at large in the Village.  Officers locating any animal  not in compliance with the leash law may impound it andfine the owner.

Community Relations

The Glenview Police Department offers a wide range of crime prevention programs, including security inspections, Neighborhood Watch programs, and an "Officer Friendly" program in the schools.

Infant Car Seat Inspection

The Glenview Police Department can double-check to make sure you installed your infant car seat correctly and safely. Call (847) 729-5000 to make an appointment.

Social Services

The Glenview Police Department employs a clinical social worker to provide social service assistance through crisis intervention, short term counseling, court advocacy, and referral services to Village of Glenview residents. The Social Services unit's client population includes, but it not limited to, domestic violence, troubled youth, mental health concerns and victims of crime.
