Village Manager Report
- Update: Wide Open West construction of cable system. WOW, which provides cable, phone and internet service, will begin Phase II of its build out this month in the area east of Waukegan between approximately Winnetka Road and the Glen View Club. In January and February, cable will be strung from existing utility poles; once the ground thaws out in the spring, the company will begin underground work.
Approved
- Amendment to Municipal Code regarding residential signs, awings, and minimum rear yard settings for business districts.
- Submission of an application to receive funds through the State of Illinois Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Disaster Recovery Program for the Harlem/Dewes/Henley Area Storm Water Infrastructure Improvement Project.
- Bid auction conducted by Northern Illinois Municipal Electric Cooperative for electricity supply for the Village's pumping station, parking decks, train stations, and streetlights.
- Final site plan ordinance for Care Club for Seniors, 1151 Waukegan Road.
- Establishment of 30-minute parking restriction on Harlem Avenue north of Glenview Road and across from Glenview Public Library.
First Consideration
- Zoning variations for 2100 and 2180 Pfingsten - Glenbrook Hospital.
- Amendment to Municipal Code shifting the time limitation for solicitation from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. The Village has been challenged on its 6 p.m. time limit and case law now supports the 9 p.m. limit as, in an increasing number of two-earner households, homes are vacant at 6 p.m. Homeowners and Homeowner Associations are free to post "No Soliciting" signs on their private property. Vote 3-1 in favor.
Continued
- First consideration of an annexation ordinance for 2255 Sanders -- Northwestern Memorial Hospital.
