Village President's Report:
- The President reported on a number of new recycling initiatives at the Village, including athletic shoes, burnt out CFL bulbs,
and unneeded prescriptions and sharps. She also noted that the Village has posted a new Green Web Page.
Village Manager's Report
- Introduction of Ken Lehmann, the Village's new Inspectional Services Director.
- The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has notified the Village that it will receive $1.1 million to reimburse about 75 percent of the Village's
expenses related to the August, 2007 storm.
- Emerald Ash Borer update. The Village has found its first confirmed case on Long Road, identified by Village staff as
part of its proactive inspection activities and confirmed by the Illinois Department of Agriculture. Public Works will be doing continuous inspections and
working closely with the IDA to move forward with a proper inspection program. The Village is also developing
a Public/Private EAB Management Plan that will be presented to the Board within the next month. Residents should call Public Works at (847) 657-3030

concerns.
Public Hearings
- Special Service Areas #49 (Wagner Road storm sewer project) and #61 (Kaywood Lane storm sewer project).
Approved:
- Final costs for the Cook County Highway Department East Lake Avenue Project (Patriot Boulevard to the Edens Expressway).
The project included the installation of a 42-inch Village water main and the rehabilitation of an
existing 20-inch water main. Final costs and invoicing include:
- Village final payment to Cook County for construction of water main and associated utility work: $1,212,224
- Village final invoice to Wilmette for its cost share of the water main: $231,354
- Village final invoice to Cook County for its cost share of the construction: $1,324,731.
- Contract Awards:
- 2008 aerial photography and mapping services to Ayres Associates, Inc. Budget: $75,680.
- Employee Management Certificate Program to DePaul University. Budget: $22,400.
- Employee medical benefits analysis to the Segal Company. Budget: $32,000.
- Clearview/Fairway/Golfview infrastructure improvement projects to Mauro Sewer Construction, Inc. Budget: $1,404,348.
- Continued participation in the Northern Illinois Municipal Electric Cooperative and acceptance
of the lowest bid it receives to provide power for the Village's water pumping stations. Made up of more than 100 municipal and public entities from throughout the
Chicagoland area, NIMEC seeks to lower the cost of electrical power for its members. NIMEC has put together a 12-month contract for power for
all its members, which will be bid on by three power companies.
- Special event permit to Bank of America for its Golf Open at The Glen Club, May 26-June 1.

- Guideline for staff to quantify the impact of property annexed into (or disconnected from) the Village and to establish a policy for developing
revenue assumptions in construction of the annual tax levy and budget.
- Temporary banner for Gusto Ristorante Italiano, 1470 Waukegan Road.
Continued:
- Downtown Development (form-based) Code. The Board had a number of technical questions to be addressed by staff before a full presentation.
- Public Hearing regarding annexation with annexation agreement, rezoning, final site plan, preliminary subdivision and associated variances for
3345 Sanders Road and 3760 Greenleaf
Avenue and the Northeast corner of Greenleaf Avenue.
- Public Hearing regarding a conditional use ordinance for Fire Station #7, 3507 Glenview Road.
