Village President's Report
- Appointments to the Waukegan Road Study Committee are not yet finalized, but will be posted on the Village website when they are. An Open House is scheduled for Thursday, March 19 at 7 p.m.
in the Police Station.
- Library Update. Initial indications from bidding process are the library construction project will remain within budget.
All three major phases of design are substantially complete and a final bid should come before the Board on March 3.
- The next meeting of the Resident Storm Water Task Force is scheduled for
Wednesday, March 11. The Task Force is very interested in public input; residents are encouraged to participate in a brief
on-line survey, which will be collecting feedback
through the end of February.
Approved
- Use of digital price displays on gas station signs.
- Final Site Plan for 3 Waukegan Road – Glenview Crossing.
- Recapture Ordinance for Pleasant Lane storm sewer.
- Stop sign at Vernon Drive and Raleigh Road. Vote in favor: 5-1.
- Bid and Contract awards for:
- Telephone services to AT&T. Budget: three-year contract for $60,300.
- Federal lobbying services to Barnes & Thornburg. Budget: $7,000 monthly retainer plus five percent contingency.
- Stimulus lobbying services to Barnes & Thornburg. Budget: $80,000 plus five percent contingency.
- Federal lobbying services to Heartland Solutions Groups, Inc. Budget: $3,000 monthly retainer plus five percent contingency.
- Regarding demolition service provided for property at 1900 Glenview Road and 1919 Prairie Street:
- 2008 and 2009 Budget amendments.
- Change Order in the amount of $17,000; and the prior expenditure of $410,333 for emergency procurement of soil and water remediation.
- Use of Village's refuse collector, Groot, to collect holiday trees in 2010. Previously, Public Works collected trees.
- Seven-year agreement with the Village of Grayslake to provide public safety dispatch services for its Police Department.
This should result in annual revenues for the Village of Glenview of $225,000.
First Consideration
- Conditional Use for Community Park West - Phase III to build a maintenance and vehicle facility at the southern end of the site.
- Rezoning of 1421 Milwaukee Avenue -- The Grove -- from R-1 Residential to P-1 Public Lands.
- Adjustment to downtown parking regulations to create temporary disabled parking during the
construction of the Glenview Public Library. Eight spaces have been identified: four on the north side of Prairie Street and four along
the northern most row of parking in the existing Library lot on the south side of Glenview Road.
- Declaration of two Village dump trucks as surplus.
- Ordinance establishing the maximum number of liquor licenses in each license category.
