Village President's Report:

  • President Cummings asked for a moment of silence out of respect for the five young victims of the tragic shootings last Thursday at Northern Illinois University and for the victims of the February 7 shooting in the Council Chambers of Kirkwood, Missouri.
  • On Thursday, February 21 @ 7 p.m. the Board will be holding a workshop to review reports on adjusting commuter parking fees to support maintenance and operations for the Village train stations and on how comparable communities use ambulance fees to cover their ambulance-related costs.

Approved:

  • Contract Awards:
    • 2008-2010 Concrete Improvement/Minor Area Repair Strategy-C Program to M&A Cement Work, Inc. Budget: $1,093,951.
    • Three-month contract to manage the Village and North Maine Water Systems to Baxter & Woodman Consulting Engineers. The impetus behind this contract is two-fold: to address short-term management issues created by the retirement and departure of several key water supervision employees and to explore long-term options for managing both water systems. Budget: $77,000.
  • Increase in the Village's Hotel/Motel tax from five percent to six percent. The impetus behind this increase is to fund the expansion of the Village's membership in the Chicago North Shore Convention and Visitors Bureau to include Glenview's hotels.

Continued:

  • Downtown Development (form-based) Code. The Board had a number of technical questions to be addressed by staff before a full presentation.
  • Public Hearing regarding annexation with annexation agreement, rezoning, final site plan, preliminary subdivision and associated variances for 3345 Sanders Road and 3760 Greenleaf Avenue and the Northeast corner of Greenleaf Avenue.
  • Public Hearing regarding a conditional use ordinance for Fire Station #7, 3507 Glenview Road.
