Village President Report

  • President Cummings recognized former State Representative Elizabeth Coulson for her many contributions to the Village.

Village Manager Report

  • Forest Restoration Grant: The Village has been awarded a $20,000 Emerald Ash Borer Tree Reforestation Grant by the Metropolitan Mayors Caucus. Currently, the Village manages 26,800 public trees, of which 5,250 are ash trees. To-date, 117 public ash trees have been removed due to EAB infestation and replaced with alternative trees. This grant will help offset the cost of this removal and replanting program.

Approved

  • Closure of Washington Street and Glenview Road on certain dates to facilitate construction of the Library parking deck. Washington (between Glenview Road and Prairie) will be closed from March 23-April 7; Glenview Road (between Harlem and Lincoln) will be closed on March 28-30, and April 1.
  • Extension of site plan review and conditional use for Midwest Palliative and Hospice Care Center, 2050 Claire Court as its new facility had been delayed due to fund raising efforts.
  • Amendments to Municipal Code regarding
    • Contractor requirements and violations. Under the proposed amendment, a contractor with outstanding violations or one that owes the Village money will be prohibited from receiving additional permits.
    • Reference updates and spelling corrections.
  • Contracts, Bids, and Purchases:
    • Maintenance and repair services for light- and medium-duty vehicles with Bredemann Ford. Budget: $169,450. Vote 4-1 in favor.
    • Central/George/Culver/Lehigh infrastructure improvement project to Berger Excavating Contractors, Inc. Budget: $1,198,124.
  • Amendment to the Village's residential solid waste services agreement with Groot Industries to provide curbside refuse/recycling services or multi-family buildings with three or more units and individual refuse/recycling pick up.

First Consideration

  • Final site plan for 2100 Johns Drive - Pappas.
  • Extension of a conditional use and final site plan review for Bredemann Ford, 2308 Waukegan Road.
  • Amendment to Municipal Code to permit a Trustee to refuse compensation in those instances where his or her employer specifically prohibits outside compensation.

  • First consideration of an annexation ordinance for 2255 Sanders -- Northwestern Memorial Hospital.
  • Contract award for Telecommunications services from Call One. Three-year budget: $634,000.
  • Interagency agreement with the Cook County Assessor's Office for access to the Geographic Information System.
  • Certificate of appropriateness for the Glenview Park District, 1930 Prairie Street.
