Village President's Report

Approved

  • Conditional Use for Community Park West - Phase III to build a maintenance and vehicle facility at the southern end of the site.
  • Rezoning of 1421 Milwaukee Avenue -- The Grove -- from R-1 Residential to P-1 Public Lands.
  • Adjustment to downtown parking regulations to create temporary disabled parking during the construction of the Glenview Public Library. Eight spaces have been identified: four on the north side of Prairie Street and four along the northern most row of parking in the existing Library lot on the south side of Glenview Road.
  • Declaration of two Village dump trucks as surplus.
  • Ordinance establishing the maximum number of liquor licenses in each license category.
  • Bid and Contract awards for:
    • Trees for 2009 Annual Tree Planting Program to Suburban Tree Consortium. This will involve the purchase and planting of 450 parkway trees, a reduction from the original 600 budgeted for 2009 that will result in a savings of $51,186 over the original budgeted amount of $179,200, necessary in light of budget conditions. The reduction in tree plantings will not affect the Village’s status as a Tree City USA. Budget: $128,014.
    • MUNIS consulting services to Baecore Group. This is necessary due to a reduction in Village staff positions and a restructuring of the Support Services Department in response to the Village's financial situation. Consulting services are necessary to stay on-track with planned enhancements to the Village's information system (MUNIS). Budget: $84,000.
    • Emergency financial and accounting services to Sikich. The Village recently released a request for proposals to provide these services over the long-term. In the interim, these services will be provided by Sikich. Budget: not-to-exceed $198,000.
  • Amendment to coffee vendor sublease agreement for Glen of North Glenview Metra station that freezes rent levels.
  • Regarding agreement with the Village of Grayslake to provide public safety dispatch services for its Police Department:
    • Budget amendment.
    • Agreement with New World Systems for additional software licenses and services. Budget: $21,800.
  • Waiver of building, planning and other construction-associated fees (with the exception of direct costs incurred by the Village) for nonprofits and governmental jurisdictions.
  • Total proposed budget for the new Glenview Public Library of $28,691,274 and a guaranteed maximum price construction budget of $23,058,018. The final contract will be on the agenda for consideration on March 17.

First Consideration

  • Conditional use for Telecommunications Service Facility, 1400 Milwaukee Avenue -- 12 antennas, associated equipment and support installations.
  • Deletion of Municipal Code Chapter regarding licensing and regulation of real estate brokers. This Chapter is unnecessary, as this type of regulation and licensing occurs at the State level.
