Village President's Report:

  • Recognition of National Public Works Week. An Open House will be held on Saturday, May 12 from 11 a.m. - 4 p.m. at 1333 Shermer Road.
  • A Navy Land Planning Process Visioning Workshop is scheduled for Wednesday, May 9 at 7 p.m. at the Police Station, 2500 East Lake Avenue.

Public Hearings

  • Special Service Area 52 -- Glen Oak Acres Area "K" Storm Water Area Management Project (SWAMP).

Status Report

  • Solid Waste Agency of Northern Cook County (SWANCC) strategic plan regarding a certified Emerald Ash Borer Processing Site.

Approved:

  • Rezoning of 615-619 Milwaukee Avenue from R-1 to B-2.
  • Commercial variations regarding the placement of ground signs for 1700 East Lake Avenue.
  • Temporary "No Parking Zone" in the Concord and Southgate Subdivisions for the Youth Make a Difference 5K Run/Walk to benefit Youth Services of Glenview/Northbrook on June 24.
  • Final Subdivisions
    • 2811 Central Road - Daniel's and Partners.
    • 609 Surrey Lane -- M.D.R.A.I.A.
    • 822 East Glenwood Road - Kotlovsky.
  • Contract awards for:
    • Dispatch consolidation consulting services to Richard S. Tucker Consulting. Budget: Not-to-Exceed $10,000.
    • Fairhope and Area K Infrastructure Improvement Projects to Mauro Sewer Construction, Inc. Budget: $897,941.
  • Regarding a possible Emerald Ash Borer infestation:
    • Amendments to the Village's Tree Preservation Ordinance, including, among other things, the removal of ash trees from the "acceptable tree replacement species list;" waiving all fees and tree replacement requirements for infested ash trees; and declaring all privately-owned infested ash trees as illegal.
    • Removal of all the Village-owned small ash inventory (800 trees or approximately 16 percent) in four years, beginning in 2008 as well as removal of Village Ash parkway trees if they are infested, dead, dying or hazardous.
    • Require contractor/property owner to submit a signed copy of the IDA Compliance Agreement regarding EAB as part of the permit approval and business license process.
  • Annexation Ordinance and Ageement for 3305 Westview Drive - Overland Pass Subdivision. A Public Hearing was held on this matter.
  • First amendment to the Willow Road Corridor Agreement which would disconnect Glenview land parcels at the northwest corner of Pfingsten and Willow Roads, permitting them to be annexed into Northbrook. This will create a unified parcel that will be developed in the Village of Northbrook. The development will consist of a 25,000 square foot single use Fresh Farms specialty grocery store building with 160 parking spaces.
  • Village of Glenview Employee Handbook.

  • Temporary traffic ordinance regarding road closure for the Glenview Park District's Annual Spring Triathalon on July 29.

Continued:

  • Our Lady of Perpetual Help's pending covenant to provide storm water detention.
