Village Manager's Report
- Request for Board direction regarding whether or not the Village should place truck weight restrictions on Village roadways. The Board expressed interest in considering such restrictions as residents request them for particular Village streets.
- Overview of the implementation of a revised and more vigorous cross connection control program based on IEPA regulations. As a first step, the Village will be working to build a comprehensive inventory of systems throughout Glenview that require a backflow device.
- Update regarding proposed shut-down of Portage Run pump station, as it has become redundant. Such a shut-down could save $28,000 annually in electrical costs.
Approved
- Ordinance regarding registration of vacant properties. This is due to the large increase in the number of vacant properties in Glenview -- which can lead to lack of maintenance, nuisance complaints, and other problems. This ordinance will require that owners register vacant properties with the Village, and pay a $200 annual registration fee. For purposes of enforcement, it also includes a minimum $100 fine per day, per violation, for any violation.
