Village Manager's Report

  • Update: 2009 Comprehensive Annual Financial Report. The Village's auditor, Miller Cooper & Company, Ltd., issued an unqualified “clean” audit opinion for the Village for the year ended December 31, 2009.

Approved

  • Final site plan for 1 Culligan Parkway - Glenstar Development Entrance.
  • Regulatory review time limit text amendments to Municipal Code regarding permits, conditional use, variation and site plan review.
  • Text updates to Municipal Code including staff designations, zoning districts, and commission review.
  • Fireworks displays at:
    • Glenview Park District Golf Club, July 5
    • Valley Lo Club, July 3
    • North Shore Country Club, July 3 and September 5
  • Single-lot subdivision for 1629 Hawthorne Lane, Cregg.
  • Compliance with Illinois Prevailing Wage Act.
  • Amendments to 2010 budget:
    • Regarding 2009 E Debt Service Obligations
    • Regarding SSA 62 and SSA 63 Debt Service Obligations
  • Contracts, bid awards and purchases:
    • Indian Road Reconstruction Project to PirTano Construction Company. Budget: $764,858.
    • Supplemental resurfacing projects to ALamp Concrete Contractors, Inc. Budget:$151,000.
    • Glenview Road/Greenwood Road Intersection Improvement Project through the Illinois Department of Transportation. Budget: $1,626,892.
    • E911 Mission Control Monitoring Service annual maintenance to Motorola. Budget: $30,594.
    • Fabrication and installation of signs in Gallery Park to ADCON Signs. Budget: $81,136.
    • Custodial services for Village facilities to Advanced Cleaning Systems, Inc. Budget: $274,824.
    • Purchase of two fire engines, plus radio and ancillary equipment via the Northwest Municipal Conference. Budget: $1,070,600
    • Thermoplastic marking services to Superior Road Striping, Inc. Budget: $54,000.
    • Purchase of additional refuse and recycling carts from Rehrig Pacific Company. Budget: $75,000. This item also included a budget amendment.
  • Special event banner program for Kohl Children's Museum 25th Anniversary banners.
  • One-year lease with United Standard Industries, Inc. for periodic use of the Police Station's firing range and an adjacent storage area. This lease will generate a minimum of $95,400 annually for the Village.
  • Rezoning (from R-1 to R-3) and single-lot subdivision of 3260 Brookdale Lane, Putman residence. Vote 4-1 in favor.
  • Temporary road closures for the Glenview Park District's Annual Sprint Triathlon, August 1.
  • Art at the Glen Town Center, Amdur Productions, August 7 and temporary road closures for this event.
  • Amendments to the Municipal Wall Sign Code.
  • Conditional uses for:
    • CrossFit Gym, 2001 Johns Drive. B-2 use in an I-2 district.
    • Glenview Park District Farm Stand, 1510 Wagner Road. This item also included a final site plan.
    • Wilmette Truck & Bus Sales & Service, Inc., 2087-2089 Johns Drive. B-3 use in an I-2 district.
  • Installation of stamped, colored concrete at the Lake and Waukegan crosswalks. Budget: $36,000.
  • Memorandum of Understanding with the Baker Development Corporation, which owns 3 Waukegan Road, for future extension of a landscaped median north of Golf Road.
  • Final site plan for Regency Townhomes, 3235 North Milwaukee Avenue.
  • Extension of conditional use for the construction of a carriage house and pavilion at the Grove, 1421 Milwaukee Avenue.

  • Proposed amendments to the Municipal Lighting Code. Trustees asked that local car dealerships be contacted for feedback regarding some of the proposed changes.
