Village Manager's Report

  • Commonwealth Edison 2008 Annual Report detailing electrical system performance and improvements. Highlights:
    • Average number of service interruptions per Glenview customer was 0.89 -- placing Glenview customers below ComEd's system-wide average of approximately 1.40.
    • Average length of service interruptions for Glenview customers was 118 minutes -- placing Glenview customers below the ComEd system-wide average of approximately 190 minutes.
    • Also addressed were three additional issues:
      • A service issue with ComEd street lights on Waukegan Road between Palmgren and Outlook Drives.
      • Resident concerns about repeated inundation of a ComEd transformer at 3403 Winchester Lane.
      • Repeated, lengthy outages between January and April at Classic Residence by Hyatt at The Glen.

Approved

  • Resolution to comply with the Illinois Prevailing Wage Act, which requires that each June, public entities establish prevailing wages for certain laborers, worker and mechanics and require that contractor and subcontractors pay these workers a wage no less than the general prevailing rate of wages in the county where the work in performed.
  • Bid and Contract awards for:
    • Sewer lining services to Insituform Technologies. Budget: $894,079.
    • Design/build detention basin retrofits to V3 Companies. Budget: $95,056.
    • Waiver of competitive bidding contract; E911 mission control monitoring service annual maintenance to Motorola. Budget: $25,253.
  • Designation of Sharon Turlek, Assistant Director of Human Resources as:
    • Alternate Director for the Intergovernmental Benefit Cooperative (IPBC).
    • Delegate to the High-Level Excess Liability Pool.
  • Codification of existing stop sign at eastbound Pebble Creek Drive and northbound/southbound Pebble Creek Drive.
  • Extension for final site plan ordinance for Regency Townhomes, 3235 North Milwaukee Avenue.

  • Voluntary Annexation Ordinance for 505 Milwaukee Avenue.
  • Updates to the Village's Employee Handbook.
  • Issuance of Series 2009B tax bonds to construct storm water sewers in the Glen Oaks area, and providing for the levy and collection of a direct annual tax for payment of their principal and interest:
    • $313,081 for Special Service Area #62.
    • $86,918 for Special Service Area #63.
