Village Manager's Report

  • Quarterly Financial Report for period ending June 30, 2008. Read the full report.
  • 2007 Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR) presented by Sikich Gardner & Co, LLP, which handles the Village's audit.
  • Electronic Services Update. The Village is now offering Illinois E-Pay on its website, which provides residents with an on-line option for paying water/sewer bills, and has started uploading Geographic Information System (GIS) information to Google Earth (with a link to the Village website.)

Approved

  • Amendment to planned development for 711 Shermer, 2203-2387 Larkdale Drive, 2303, 2307, 2311 Linneman Street -- Bedford Green/Orchard Properties Subdivision. Owners will now be able to obtain permits for sunrooms and second story additions over a garage without the need for a variance.
  • Redesign of existing way-finding signage for the Glen Town Center as well as the addition of two new way-finding signs. These are located along Tower Drive and the side streets leading from Patriot Boulevard.
  • Intergovernmental agreement with the Glenview Park District to construct a joint administrative facility.
  • Ten-year agreement with the Glenview Park District for use of a three-acre portion of Community Park West for snow dumping and other public works operational needs.
  • Fifteen-year extension of the economic development agreement between the Village and Abt Electronics originally approved in June, 2000. This will protect the Village's interests and encourage Abt to maintain its presence in the community over the long term. Read the full Board Report for details of the agreement. Vote 5-1 in favor.
  • Street closure and change of location for the Glen Town Center Oktoberfest, September 13-14, from the top level of the north parking deck to Navy Park.
  • Declaration of a 2004 street sweeper as surplus Village property.

First Consideration

  • Change to Village Code definition of "animals running at large." Currently, animals are not permitted to run at large anywhere in the Village. The change would omit dogs in dog parks or dog-friendly areas, because the Glenview Park District has proposed to create a dog park at Community West Park.
  • Amendments to Municipal Code that update the various stop and yield intersections in the Village. Over time, the intersections listed in the Code have become out-of-date.
  • Amendments to Municipal Code to more clearly define lower-value property theft and penalties for theft.

Continued

  • Decrease in the minimum lot size from 43,560 square feet to 21,780 square feet (through a change in the future zoning designation) for Pleasant Plains Subdivision at 3246, 3250, 3252, 3270, and 3280 Landwehr Road; 3228-3372 Overland Pass; 3251-3281 Pleasant Run, and 3227-3305 Westview Drive.
  • Annexation agreement, annexation, map amendment, rezoning and preliminary subdivision for 3227 Westview Drive - Sawusch Subdivision.
