Village President's Report

  • Recognition of outgoing Natural Resource Commission Chairperson Kent Fuller. In honor of his many contributions, the Air Station Prairie will be re-named the "Kent Fuller Air Station Prairie."

Village Manager's Report

  • Commonwealth Edison and Nicor Annual Reports.
    • Nicor provided a general overview of how it delivers natural gas to customers. The company serves 2.2 million customers in 640 communities. It maintains 32,000 miles of pipe -- including 217 miles of steel pipe in Glenview (which is also served by polyethylene pipe).
    • ComEd reported that in 2009 the typical Glenview customer experienced an average of 1.04 service interruptions -- an improvement over the Village's annual averages from 2004-2007 but a regression from the 2008 annual average of .89. Average length of service interruption for Glenview customers was 108 minutes, which is in line with the Village's annual averages from 2004-2008. The ComEd representative and Village Trustees also discussed on ongoing issue with streetlights along Waukegan Road between Harrison and Overlook. Due to problems with these streetlights, ComEd has provided a temporary overhead system -- however it declines to repair the underground system due to what it terms the "excessive maintenance" involved. The Village maintains that it is ComEd's responsibility to undertake the repairs, however, at this time no agreement has been reached.
