Village President's Report

  • Glenview Chamber of Commerce Appearance Committee Awards Presentation.
  • Swearing in of new firefighters Kevin Lorenz, Andrew Hogan, and Scott Obrill.

Approved

  • Contract award for plumbing inspections to Northfield Plumbing. Budget: $59,150.
  • Deletion of language codifying a Village Senior Commission, which was active in the 1970s. The Commission hasn't met in at least a decade; senior needs are currently addressed by the Village's own Senior Services Program, the Glenview Senior Center and other community organizations. Vote 4-2 in favor.
  • One-year membership renewal in Chicago North Shore Convention and Visitors Bureau. Fee: $62.900.
  • Issuance of two General Obligation Refunding Bonds Series:
    • $11,840,000 - Series 2009D.
    • $28,260,000 - Taxable Series 2009E.
  • Agreement with Lockheed Martin, Inc. to lease the Police Station's firing range, classroom space and storage facilities to provide requalification training for Federal Flight Deck Officers. Annual net revenue to the Village is estimated at $65,000-$75,000.

First Consideration

  • Conditional use (six antennas and an equipment shelter in an I-I Limited Commercial District) for 2211 Sanders Road - Clearwire Wireless Broadband.

Continued

  • Final subdivision at 1930 Glenview Road - Glenview Public Library.
  • Amendments to Village Code to allow a 12-month requirement for site plan and conditional use expirations in which the initial permit must be attained. The expansion of this requirement is due to the economic downturn; petitioners are having trouble complying with the current deadline requirements.
  • First consideration of a Plan Commission denial for rezoning at 235 East Lake Avenue – Meier’s Tavern.
  • Support of Cook County Class 6b applications filed by D.R.L. Enterprises, 2301 Ravine Way.
