Village President's Report
- FEMA Aid for Storm Damage. Residents and businesses affected by the recent storms
can now apply for individual aid. Find out more.
- Computer and Electronic Recycling Event. Saturday, October 11 between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. at Motorola's
Schaumberg facility, 1301 East Algonquin Road. This event is sponsored by
the Solid Waste Agency of Northern Cook County (SWANCC).

- Early Voting. Runs October 13-30 here at Village Hall. Hours are 8:30 a.m. - 5 p.m. Monday through Friday; 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. on Saturdays. Don't forget to bring a photo ID.
- Downtown Development Form Based Code Open House. Thursday, October 16 at 7 p.m. in
the Village Hall. Designed for property and business owners in the Downtown Revitalization Area.
- Community Stormwater Management Workshop. Tuesday, October 21 at 7 p.m. in the Police Station.
This will take the place of the regular
Board meeting (there will be a short regular meeting at 6:30 p.m.) and representatives of the Metropolitan Water Reclamation District (MWRD)
will attend.
- 2009 Village Budget Workshops. Tuesday, October 14 and Thursday, October 30;
both at 7 p.m. in the Police Station.
Approved
- Decrease in the minimum lot size from 43,560 square feet to 21,780 square feet (through a change in the future zoning
designation) for Pleasant Plains Subdivision at 3246, 3250, 3252, 3270, and 3280 Landwehr Road; 3228-3372 Overland Pass; 3251-3281 Pleasant Run, and
3227-3305 Westview Drive.
- Annexation, annexation agreement, map amendment, rezoning and preliminary subdivision for 3227 Westview Drive -
Sawusch Subdivision. A Public Hearing was held on this matter.
- Regarding a recent traffic analysis of Glen Oak Acres:
- Stop signs at Hawthorne approaches to Elmwood. Vote 5-1 in Favor.
- Elmwood parking prohibition from 7 - 8:30 a.m. and from 2 - 3:30 p.m.
- Declaration of computer-related equipment as surplus.
- Single-lot subdivision: Redmann - 1028 Heatherfield Court.
- Contract and bid awards:
- Snow-plowing four neighborhood routes in the Village to Wayne Endre Contracting, Inc.
Three-year contract - Budget: $726,082.
- Tree-removal services to Glenwood Tree Experts. Budget: $27,885.
- Environmental consulting and soil remediation services related to underground
storage tank removal at the 1148 Depot Street property to
Environ Consulting and Tsarpalas Enterprises, Inc. Budget: $66,427.
- Replacement of brick pavers at
Downtown Train Station to R. Rudnick & Company. Budget: $375,600.
- Village Manager's 2008-2009 goals and priorities.
- Four appointments to Chicago's North Shore Convention and Visitors Bureau Board of Directors, including
Michael Abt, President, Abt Electronics; David Kirk, General Manager,
Baymont Inns and Suites; James Marino, General Manager, Wyndham
Glenview Suites; and Shannon Ridgeway, Senior Marketing Director, Glen Town Center.
- Regarding the Village Treasure House - 1460 Paddock Drive:
- Variation allowing a nonprofit resale and consignment business to occupy an existing building with nine parking stalls (instead of 17).
- Conditional use to operate of nonprofit consignment shop -- a B-2 use -- in an I-2 light industrial district.
- Requirement that GlenStar, developer of the former Culligan property, install sidewalk adjacent to its property on the
north side of Willow Road west of the Tollway in accordance with recommended safety improvements. Vote 4-2 in favor.
First Consideration
- Installation of stop signs on the Pinehurst Drive approaches to Swainwood Drive and the Swainwood
Drive approach to Spruce Drive. Vote 5-1 in favor.
- Installation of a stop sign at the Burton Terrace approach to Brandon Road. Vote 5-1 in favor.
- Conditional use (B-3 use in a B-2 District)
and final site plan for Glenview Gas Mart - 451 Glenview Road.
