President Cummings has served on the Village Board since April 2003, and was also a member of the Comprehensive Plan Commission. She was elected Village President in 2005 and was re-elected in 2009. Ms. Cummings currently serves as the President of the Northwest Municipal Conference and is a member of the Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning's Council of Mayors Executive Committee.
Prior to her service on the Village Board, she was a member of the Glenview School District #34 Board. There she served as board representative to the Citizen's Finance Advisory Committee and the Compensation Committee. Ms. Cummings is active in the community through her church, St. David's Episcopal Church, and Boy Scouts of America. She had also served on the Finance Committee of Bishop Anderson Institute, a charitable foundation.
Ms. Cummings holds a law degree from Chicago-Kent College of Law and an undergraduate degree from Hillsdale College, Hillsdale, Michigan. Her work experience includes: estate tax; and trust and probate administration. She had previously worked for The Northern Trust Company.
She and husband Rick, an attorney, have lived in Glenview for more than 22 years.
