Beginning the week of June 24, representatives from the Village’s contractor, RMS Utility Services, and consultant, Baxter & Woodman Consulting Engineers of Crystal Lake, will be in a pilot area, bounded roughly by East Lake Avenue, Lehigh and Harlem avenues, Central Road and Shermer Road, (see this map) in order to capture accurate GPS points on Village assets, such as fire hydrants, water and sewer vaults, clean outs and water service boxes. The purpose of this study is to update the Village’s mapping system. Accurate mapping allows the Village to efficiently service the water, storm and sanitary system and allows for future planning and construction services.
Crews will have safety vests, shirts and ID badges and their vehicles will be marked with their company name. Call RMS Utility Services at (888) 655-4085 or the Village Public Works Department at (847) 657-3030 between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. weekdays with questions.
