The National Wildlife Federation is promoting a "Butterfly Heroes" program that will provide free milkweed seed packets to anyone who "takes the pledge" to be a butterfly hero. Details are here.
Two new studies in the journal, "Frontiers of Ecology and Evolution," show how metropolitan areas can help save monarchs by planting milkweed. The lead author is Abigail Derby Lewis, a Glenview resident and senior conservation ecologist at the Field Museum. Read the article here.
