While we continue to maintain physical distance to help stop the spread of COVID-19, the Village of Glenview knows it's important for our health and well-being during this time of isolation to enjoy Glenview's stellar natural areas. In fact, Governor JB Pritzker's Executive Order to stay at home through April 30 allows outdoor activity in compliance with social distancing requirements. So the Village is holding a contest to help residents take solo trips to brighten their day. No large groups! Participants can share snapshots of the best of Glenview's “green-ness" and have the chance to win a $50 gift card.
Here's how to participate:
- Take and post snapshots of photos for the week's theme on the Village of Glenview's Facebook (Village of Glenview), Twitter (@GlenviewVillage) or Instagram (GlenviewVillage) pages, using the hashtags #HealthySixFeet #BikeGlenview. Photos can also be emailed to: bmadison@glenview.il.us
- The theme for April 10-17 is wildlife (birds and animals)
- The theme for April 17-24 is sunrise and sunsets (and other sky shots)
- The best snapshots will be aggregated into a survey that anyone can access online through a link distributed on social media, E-Glenview and the Village website (glenview.il.us). The photo receiving the most votes will win a $50 gift card to the Glenview business or restaurant of their choice.
