Order regarding face coverings

Beginning at 12:01 a.m. Sunday, all individuals in Glenview over age 5 will be required to cover their nose and mouth with a covering while working at or patronizing an essential business open to the public and when using public transportation.
Village President Jim Patterson signed this Executive Order to further increase the wearing of face coverings when in public to reduce the spread of COVID-19, protect essential workers and all community members. This Executive Order is in addition to the need for strict social distancing practices and adherence to Illinois' "stay at home" order.

Face coverings are not necessary in these instances:
  • permissible outdoor activity while practicing social distancing
  • riding in a vehicle
  • when drinking or eating
  • when alone or with household members in a separate single space
  • when doing so poses a great health, safety or security risk
Like the other isolating measures, enforcement will be on a complaint basis, but the Village expects Glenview citizens to comply.
