Project description

Improvements to Beaver Lane from Wilmette Avenue to the south cul-de-sac include:

  • Replacing existing water main with new 9-inch diameter water main
  • Upgrading existing storm sewers
  • Repairing existing sanitary sewers
  • Installing new concrete curb and gutter
  • Constructing new asphalt pavement

Contractor: Joel Kennedy Construction Corp. of Chicago​

Budget: $1,350,345 (bid with Juniper Road improvements project)

Tentative schedule​

  • Contract awarded -- March 2, 2021
  • Pre-construction meeting -- TBA​
  • Approximate start of construction -- June 1, 2021
  • Approximate completion of construction -- August 15, 2021

Schedule may be revised due to inclement weather or other unforeseen circumstances.

Work hours are 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.  Saturday. Work outside these hours will require Village approval. ​​

The week of September 13 the contractor will conclude the final landscaping including the sod installation.

Good News! The project is substantially completed, and this will be the final blog post for the project. We hope you found the information to be helpful and insightful regarding the current status of the project and upcoming work.

The Village of Glenview will provide surveys in the future for you to complete regarding the construction work and notifications provided. Please take a few moments to complete this survey. The information will allow us to know what aspects of the project we are doing well at and which areas we need to improve upon in the future.

The week of September 7 the contractor will begin the final landscaping including the sod installation.

Throughout this phase of construction, the contractor will be working in the street and parkway. Construction hours are from 7 am to 7 pm Monday through Friday and 9 am to 5 pm on Saturdays, if necessary.

This past week the contractor completed the final layer of asphalt on Beaver Lane.

There will be very little work performed on-site in advance of the final landscaping which is tentatively scheduled for mid-September.

Throughout this phase of construction, the contractor will be working in the street and parkway. Construction hours are from 7 am to 7 pm Monday through Friday and 9 am to 5 pm on Saturdays, if necessary.
