Citizen's Police Academy


Are you interested in getting an up-close look at what police do?

Applications are being accepted until February 1, 2024 for the Glenview Police Department's 2024​ Citizen's Police Academy. A group of up to 20 "students" can participate in 10 information sessions touching on patrol functions, dispatch operations, traffic issues, investigations, crime lab operations, community relations and police training.

The Academy, which is presented at no cost to the participants, will start Thursday, February 29, and meet weekly through May 2​. Sessions are three hours each, and begin at 6:30 p.m. at the Glenview Municipal Center, 2500 East Lake Avenue. Participants will enter through Village Hall's main lobby.

Applicants must be at least 18 years old and reside or own a business in Glenview.

Applications should be returned to the Glenview Police Department, 2500 East Lake Avenue, Glenview IL 60026, either in person or by mail by February 1, 2024.
