Project description

Improvements on Greenbriar Drive from Greenwood Road to Lotus Lane include:

  • installing 8-inch Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC) water main and water services
  • installing 12-inch to 24-inch storm sewer to improve storm water conveyance
  • sanitary pipe repairs, removal and replacement of sanitary sewer manholes and service replacements, if necessary
  • pavement improvements, including removal and replacement of the existing curb and gutter and concrete pavements with installation of new asphalt pavement.

Contractor: DiMeo Brothers Inc. of Elk Grove Village 

Budget: $2,187,726 (with Covert Road/Briarhill Road project)

Tentative schedule

  • Bid award -- March 3, 2020
  • Preconstruction meeting -- March 17, 2020
  • Tentative construction start -- April 6, 2020
  • Tentative completion of construction -- July 10, 2020​

Schedule may be revised due to inclement weather or other unforeseen circumstances.

Work hours are 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.  Saturday. Work outside these hours will require Village approval.

​This past week the contractor completed the standardized testing on the newly installed underground utilities. The contractor also continued restoring the parkway.   

During the week of November 2, the contractor plans to place the final layer of asphalt. This work is scheduled for Tuesday November 3, weather permitting. 

Good News! The project is completed and this will be the final blog post for the project. We hope you found the information to be helpful and insightful regarding the current status of the project and upcoming work.
The Village of Glenview will provide surveys in the coming weeks for you to complete regarding the construction work and notifications provided. Please take a few moments to complete this survey. The information will allow us to know what aspects of the project we are doing well at and which areas we need to improve upon in the future.

This past week the contractor continued restoring the parkway.  

During the week of October 26, the contractor will complete standardized testing on the newly installed underground utilities. The contractor will also continue restoring the parkway. Additionally, the contractor is tentatively scheduled to place the final layer of asphalt towards the end of the week or the beginning of the following week, weather permitting.   

Throughout this phase of construction, the contractor will be working in the street and parkway. We ask that you please do not park on the street during construction hours, which are from 7 AM to 7 PM.

​This past week the contractor finished reinstating driveway aprons and placed the first layer of asphalt in Area B. The contractor also completed standardized testing on the newly installed water main and began parkway restoration. All residents regained access to their driveways. 

During the week of October 19, the contractor will complete standardized testing on the newly installed underground utilities. The contractor will also continue restoring the parkway.  

Throughout this phase of construction, the contractor will be working in the street and parkway. We ask that you please do not park on the street during construction hours, which are from 7 AM to 7 PM.
