Project description

Larch Avenue from Maple Street to Milwaukee Avenue:

  • Replacement of existing, deteriorating 6-inch cast iron water mains with 8-inch Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC) pipe
  • Improve existing storm sewer system
  • Complete various sanitary sewer repairs, under an intergovernmental agreement with Northfield Wood Sanitary District
  • Construct new asphalt roadway, including spot curb and gutter repairs
  • Restore the parkway

Tentative schedule

  • Bid award -- February 16, 2021 (Read the Staff Report)
  • Resident preconstruction meeting -- March 5, 2021
  • Tentative construction start -- April​ 2021
  • Tentative completion of construction -- August 15,  2021

The schedule is pending and may be revised due to inclement weather or other unforeseen circumstances.

Work hours are 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.  Saturday. Work outside these hours will require Village approval.

​This past week the contractor was not onsite.   

On Monday June 22, the contractor is scheduled to place the final layer of asphalt, weather permitting.

Good News! The project is completed and this will be the final blog post for the project. We hope you found the information to be helpful and insightful regarding the current status of the project and upcoming work.

The Village of Glenview will provide surveys in the coming weeks for you to complete regarding the construction work and notifications provided. Please take a few moments to complete this survey. The information will allow us to know what aspects of the project we are doing well at and which areas we need to improve upon in the future.​

​This past week the contractor finished restoring the parkway.  

During the week of June 15, the contractor will not be working on site. 
Two Week Look Ahead – During the week of June 22, the contractor is tentatively scheduled to place the final layer of asphalt.  

Throughout this phase of construction, the contractor will be working in the street and parkway. We ask that you please do not park on the street during construction hours, which are from 7 AM to 7 PM.

​This past week the contractor began phase III, the parkway restoration phase of this project. The contractor continued preparing the parkway for sod and completed standardized testing on the newly installed sanitary and storm sewer. 

During the week of June 8, the contractor plans to install sod. 

Throughout this phase of construction, the contractor will be working in the street and parkway. Impact to the residents should be minimal, however; we ask that you please do not park on the street during construction hours, which are from 7 AM to 7 PM.
