Project description

The project includes approximately 0.79 miles of improvements on Montgomery Lane, south of Colfax Avenue, and Parkview Road and Washington Street between Harrison Street and Colfax Avenue.

These major improvements include:

  • Installing approximately 4,200 linear feet of 8-inch Polyvinyl Chloride​ (PVC) water main and water services. The new 8-inch water mains will replace the existing deteriorating 6-inch cast iron water mains.
  • Installing approximately 4,180 feet of 12-inch to 18-inch storm sewer to improve stormwater conveyance
  • Sanitary sewer pipe repairs and service replacements, as necessary
  • Removing and replacing the asphalt pavement, sidewalks and new concrete curb and gutter on Montgomery Lane, Parkview Road and Washington Street

Tentative schedule

  • Bid award -- February 18, 2020
  • Preconstruction meeting --  March 17, 2020
  • Tentative construction start -- April 6, 2020
  • Tentative completion of construction -- September 18, 2020​

Schedule may be revised due to inclement weather or other unforeseen circumstances.

Work hours: 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.  Saturday. Work outside these hours will require Village approval.

This past week the contractor continued excavating Washington Street and Parkview Road and placing the new aggregate base.

During the week of July 6, the contractor plans to excavate and install new aggregate base on Washington Street. The contractor will also begin installing the new curb on Parkview Road.

Throughout this phase of construction, the contractor will be working in the street and parkway. We ask that you please do not park on the street during construction hours, which are from 7 AM to 7 PM.

​This past week the contractor began excavating Washington Street and Parkview Road and began placing the new aggregate base.

During the week of June 29, the contractor plans to continue excavating and installing new aggregate base on Washington Street and Parkview Road.

Throughout this phase of construction, the contractor will be working in the street and parkway. We ask that you please do not park on the street during construction hours, which are from 7 AM to 7 PM.

On Friday July 3 the contractor will not be working onsite due to the holiday.

​This past week the contractor continued upgrading the water services that connect each house to the mainline.

During the week of June 22, the contractor plans to continue upgrading the water services that connect each house to the mainline. While the contractor is connecting your new water service you may experience a water service interruption that could last up to one hour. The contractor will notify you the day before your water service is transferred. We understand that not having water, even for a short period of time, can be a big interruption and we appreciate your patience.

Throughout this phase of construction, the contractor will be working in the street and parkway. We ask that you please do not park on the street during construction hours, which are from 7 AM to 7 PM.
