Project description

The project includes approximately 0.79 miles of improvements on Montgomery Lane, south of Colfax Avenue, and Parkview Road and Washington Street between Harrison Street and Colfax Avenue.

These major improvements include:

  • Installing approximately 4,200 linear feet of 8-inch Polyvinyl Chloride​ (PVC) water main and water services. The new 8-inch water mains will replace the existing deteriorating 6-inch cast iron water mains.
  • Installing approximately 4,180 feet of 12-inch to 18-inch storm sewer to improve stormwater conveyance
  • Sanitary sewer pipe repairs and service replacements, as necessary
  • Removing and replacing the asphalt pavement, sidewalks and new concrete curb and gutter on Montgomery Lane, Parkview Road and Washington Street

Tentative schedule

  • Bid award -- February 18, 2020
  • Preconstruction meeting --  March 17, 2020
  • Tentative construction start -- April 6, 2020
  • Tentative completion of construction -- September 18, 2020​

Schedule may be revised due to inclement weather or other unforeseen circumstances.

Work hours: 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.  Saturday. Work outside these hours will require Village approval.

This past week the contractor finished restoring the parkway and installing sod on Montgomery Lane, Parkview Road, and Washington Street.   

During the week of September 21, the contractor will place the final layer of asphalt. 

Good News! The project is completed and this will be the final blog post for the project. We hope you found the information to be helpful and insightful regarding the current status of the project and upcoming work.

The Village of Glenview will provide surveys in the coming weeks for you to complete regarding the construction work and notifications provided. Please take a few moments to complete this survey. The information will allow us to know what aspects of the project we are doing well at and which areas we need to improve upon in the future.

This past week the contractor began restoring the parkway and installing sod on Montgomery Lane, Parkview Road, and Washington Street.  The contractor also completed standardized testing on the newly installed storm and sanitary sewers. 

During the week of September 14, the contractor will continue restoring the parkway and installing sod. The final placement of asphalt surface is schedule for September 22.  

Throughout this phase of construction, the contractor will be working in the street and parkway. We ask that you please do not park on the street during construction hours, which are from 7 AM to 7 PM.

​This past week the contractor finished re-instating the driveways on Montgomery Lane. The contractor also prepared the roadway and placed the first layer of asphalt on Montgomery Lane.  

During the week of September 8, the contractor will complete standardized testing on the newly installed storm and sanitary sewers.  

Throughout this phase of construction, the contractor will be working in the street and parkway. We ask that you please do not park on the street during construction hours, which are from 7 AM to 7 PM.
