March 19 Primary Election

​The March 19 Primary Election includes candidates for U.S. President, congressional representatives, Illinois state representatives and some senators, Cook County offices and more. ​

​Register to vote

The last regular day to register to vote in person is Tuesday, March 19. Individuals can register at Glenview Village Hall. Other area locations to register to vote in person are available online at https://www.cookcountyclerkil.gov/elections/voter-registration​. Individuals registering during early voting must immediately cast their ballot after registering to vote. On Election Day, voters who are not registered to vote can register and vote at their home precinct only.

The last day to register to vote by online application is Sunday, March 3 at ova.elections.il.gov

Vote by mail

Any registered suburban Cook County voter may request a mail ballot by applying online at https://mailvoting.cookcountyclerkil.gov.


You are encouraged to mail back the ballot in the postage-paid return envelope as early as possible once received. The last day mail ballots can be postmarked is April 2. 

The Cook County Clerk’s Office also plans to place a drop box at each of the early voting sites (including Glenview Village Hall) where completed suburban Cook County mail ballots can be deposited at Glenview Village Hall from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. (Monday-Saturday) and 10 a.m.-4p.m. (Sunday) from March 4-18. An ID is required if a person brings more than one mail-in ballot to the drop box. 

Early voting​​

Glenview Village Hall, 2500 East Lake Avenue, is once again serving as an early election polling place for the March 19 election. Early voting will take place March 4 through March 18. 7. Early voting is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday. 

A government-issued photo ID is not required, but it is helpful if there is a question about the voter’s registration, address or signature.  

Remember, Glenview Village Hall is NOT a polling place on March 19. You can find your polling place by visiting cookcountyclerkil.gov/elections​. 

Election Day

Registered suburban Cook County voters can only vote in their home precinct on Election Day.

Residents who are not registered may register and cast a ballot on Election Day thanks to same-day registration and voting. Those who wish to register on Election Day must present two qualifying forms of ID.

Glenview Village Hall is not a polling place on Election Day.

Work on Election Day

The Cook County Clerk's Office is recruiting community members to serve voters as suburban poll workers on Election Day, November 3. Election judges are paid $250 and Equipment Managers earn $400.
