In 2002, the Village of Glenview adopted a Stormwater Area Management Program, or "SWAMP." This program was designed to offer neighborhoods built with little or no storm sewers an opportunity to design and build the infrastructure most likely to provide a 10-year level of storm protection, including a storm sewer inlet or stub for each property.
The Village will be retiring the SWAMP program at the end of 2015. Therefore, we request that any new petitions for Preliminary Engineering Study be submitted to the Village Manager by September 1, 2015 in order to review any potential funding needs as part of the 2016-2020 Capital Improvement Program (CIP).
Although SWAMP is being retired, the Village takes existing drainage issues seriously and views the installation of any relief system as a benefit to the public. Areas identified as having poor drainage will still be considered for improvements as part of the Village's ongoing CIP or with other Public Works maintenance activities.
