Village Board of Trustees
The Village of Glenview Board of Trustees has the power to enact laws and policies, consistent with state law, regulating local and municipal affairs, usually through the enactment of ordinances and resolutions. In general, the Board's authority also includes the specific authority to:
- Enact the Village budget;
- Define the powers, functions, and duties of municipal officers and employees;
- Consider recommendations from the Development Commission on development-related applications;
- Fix the compensation of specific officers;
- Maintain retirement and pension systems;
- Impose fines and penalties for violation of city ordinances;
- Enter into contracts;
- Regulate the acquisition, sale, ownership, and other disposition of real property;
- Impose taxes, as authorized by state law;
- Cause the Village to own and operate utilities;
- Grant franchises for the use of public ways; and
- License, for the purpose of revenue and regulation, most any type of business.
Mike Jenny was elected Village President in 2021, after serving as a Trustee since 2011.
He has lived in Glenview since 2004. He has spent his career in global investment banking, focusing on mergers, acquisitions and capital raises for industrial and manufacturing businesses.
He has been involved as president of his homeowners association and is a member of Making Life Better (MLB) of Glenview, a local charitable organization focused on assisting Glenview-based service organizations.
He earned an MBA in finance from Washington University in St. Louis, and a B.A. in Political Science and Philosophy from Vanderbilt University.
Jenny and his wife, Laura, have two children. The family are active participants in several Glenview youth organizations, including GBS Girls Crew, Glenview Stars Hockey, AYSO, Glenview Youth Baseball and Boy Scouts of America, and are members of Glenview Community Church in Glenview.
Jim Bland was appointed Trustee by Village President Michael Jenny in 2021 to fill the Trustee seat vacated by Jenny when he became President in May 2021. Mr. Bland previously served as a Commissioner for the Affordable Housing Commission for Georgetown, Texas, and for the City of Chicago’s Community Development Commission.
His professional experience includes over 20 years of investing, consulting, finance, mergers and acquisitions, operational, and military experience. Bland served 8.5 years in the U.S. Army, US Army Reserve and Army National Guard (Army Space Command) resigning as a Captain. He continues to serve the Department of Defense as the Civilian Aide to the Secretary of the Army (CASA) for Illinois.
He earned a Bachelor of Science degree from the United States Military Academy at West Point and a Master of Business Administration from the University Of Chicago Booth School Of Business. Mr. Bland and his wife, Jennifer, have two children and have been residents of Glenview for 14 years.
Mary W. Cooper was elected to the Village Board of Trustees in 2019.
A Glenview resident since 1988, she is the founder of Cooper Consulting, which provides strategic marketing services. She has deep experience working on complex business issues for enterprise consumer food and beverage brands and major retailers.
Cooper’s service includes as a hands-on volunteer, fundraiser and member of non-for-profit boards. She served on the boards of directors for the Junior League of Chicago and Valley Lo Club. She was integral in the development of the Wagner Farm strategic plan, an active volunteer in the Glenview District 34 Schools, and volunteered for Scouts and her church. She currently works to support Operation Warm, Bernie’s Books and other local charities.
Cooper earned an MBA with a marketing specialization from Saint Louis University and a B.S. in Speech Communications from Southern Illinois University-Carbondale.
She and her husband raised four children who attended Glenview elementary schools and Glenbrook South High School.
Gina DeBoni was elected Trustee in 2021. She served as president of the Indian Ridge Homeowners Association and volunteers at West Northfield School District’s Winkelman School.
She has lived in Glenview since 2012, but spent her early childhood in Glenview. She has extensive experience as a lawyer and a business manager. She is currently the Managing Partner at a preeminent Chicagobased law firm. Gina is responsible for practice management, strategic planning and firm governance. She has primary responsibility for human resources, staff development, facilities and technology.
She was the recipient of the 2020 Illinois State Bar Association Elmer Gertz Human Rights award for her advocacy toward ending human sex trafficking, and named to the Notable Women in Law list by Crain’s Chicago Business for 2020.
She earned a law degree from the IIT Chicago Kent College of Law and a B.A. in Sociology from the University of Iowa.
DeBoni and her husband, Frank, have two children. The family are members of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Parish.
Tim Doron was elected Trustee in 2021. He previously served as chair of the Downtown Redevelopment Commission from 1990-91 and chair of the Glenview Redevelopment Commission from 1995-2000. He also served on the Glenview Plan Commission from 1992-2001, serving as chair from 1993 to 2001.
He has lived in Glenview since 1984. His professional experience includes performing a broad range of planning level and site-specific urban studies and transportation analysis for the past 25 years. Tim also served as the Chief Executive of a large mass transit system and Director of Transportation for a regional agency.
He earned a Master’s of Public Administration from Roosevelt University and a B.A. in Political Science-Urban Studies from Loyola University.
Doron and his wife, Kathy, have two children. While raising his family, he coached Glenview Youth Baseball and was on the Glenview Stars Youth Hockey Club Board of Directors. He is a member of the Glenview Men’s Golf Club and also served as a tutor at the Mercy Home for Boys. The family are members of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Parish.
Adam Sidoti was elected Trustee in 2021. Prior to his election, he helped to organize and develop a grass roots movement to educate and drive awareness of a development at the southwest corner of Pfingsten and Willow roads. Adam worked toward building a consensus-driven, palatable solution by encouraging and facilitating communication between residents, Village staff, various Village Trustees and the developer.
He has lived in Glenview since 2011. He is the Vice President in charge of sales and legal operations for Expandopedia, serving as its business and legal operations leader. He maintains an active legal license in the State of Illinois and provides consultation services.
He earned a law degree from The John Marshall Law School, Chicago and a B.S. in Journalism with a focus on Economics from the University of Illinois.
Sidoti and his wife, Brittany, have two children. He coaches his daughter’s Glenview Park District Dynamite (6U) hockey team and co-manages and organizes the Heartland Novice Hockey League, an adult league. He also serves as Social Media Chair for the Glenview Stars Hockey Association.
