The Board of Fire and Police Commissioners is tasked with establishing the testing and hiring process for employment within the Village’s Fire and Police Departments. In addition, the Board has the authority to suspend, discharge, demote, cause longevity or holiday pay to be forfeited, and order random drug testing of any officer or sworn member of the Fire or Police Department.

Rules and regulations
The Board of Fire and Police Commissioners adopted a revised set of rules and regulations, effective July 19, 2020, for the governance, control and administration of the Board, as well as members of the Fire and Police Departments of the Village of Glenview.
The Board consists of three residents of Glenview appointed by the Village President with the advise and consent of the Village Board of Trustees.
