  • Discussed concepts to enhance the Village's development review process through the use of updated and new design guidelines, and the consolidation of development-related commissions. Staff presented information on how design guidelines reflective of the community's desired aesthetics could be used to set building design and material expectations.  Also discussed was the creation of two Glenview Development Commissions consolidated from the four existing commissions aimed at improving the public's and applicant's experience navigating and providing input during the often confusing design review process.  The next step will begin with the Plan Commission's review of these concepts, which are similar to the design guidelines and the development review commission process successfully utilized during the redevelopment of the former Glenview Naval Air Station, known as The Glen.
