Actions:

  • Approved a Class A liquor license for new ownership of Shiroi Sushi, 9717 Milwaukee Avenue, and a Class A liquor license for Skipjack, 81 Waukegan Road, which authorizes the sale of alcoholic beverages for consumption on the premises where food is sold.
  • Authorized execution of an Intergovernmental and Sub-recipient Agreement with Cook County for distribution of up to $420,229 in coronavirus relief funds. Funding was provided by the federal government for local units of government, businesses and individuals to offset the financial impact of the coronavirus pandemic response.
  • Authorized a bid award to DiMeo Brothers of Elk Grove Village for $1,728,895 to construct water main, storm sewer and pavement improvements on Lilac Avenue and Russet Way. Construction is scheduled to begin this month.
  • Preliminarily granted a zoning variation for site lighting at Costco, 2900 Patriot Boulevard. The variation is needed for new light pole fixtures on existing light pole standards each at a height of 37.5 feet instead of the updated maximum height of 20 feet.
  • Took no action on a request for an exception from the temporary downtown moratorium for a development project at 1310-1318 Waukegan Road. The temporary moratorium prohibits the processing and approval of any new development projects in the downtown area for nine months while an Economic Development Strategic Plan and an update to the Downtown Revitalization Plan are pursued, unless extenuating circumstances and hardship are shown. A resolution to deny the exception failed, and a resolution to support the exception failed.
