  • Established a financial assistance program for local restaurants impacted by the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Local restaurants are critical to maintaining the vitality of our local shopping districts, but they, like all Illinois restaurants, brewpubs, and bars, have operated under various state-mandated restrictions including limitations on maximum occupancy, restrictions on permissible services and hours of operation, and compliance with various operational requirements including sanitation, use of face-coverings, and other related stipulations. To help out Glenview establishments:
    • Certain food service establishment inspection fees will be waived in 2021
    • Liquor license fees will be refunded for 2021
    • The Board will further discuss the idea of making restaurants and brewpubs that experienced interruptions to indoor dining eligible for a 50 percent refund of their average 2020 annual local sales tax revenue.
  • Authorized execution of a fourth amendment to the Purchase and Sales Agreement between the Village of Glenview and The Drake Group regarding the sale of 1850 Glenview Road, the 0.954-acre consisting of the former Bess Hardware, a portion of Village right-of-way and a portion of land formerly owned by Metra.  This extends development approval time period provisions to 60 days after a clear title is delivered or pending litigation is resolved.
