Actions:

  • Heard a presentation on the Glenview water and sewer rate structure, with specific information on the fixed and consumption components of the rates. The Board gave direction for the structure of the fixed rate charge, which is based on the size of the water meter installed, to be modified. Three meter sizes that account for 99 percent of residential customers in the Village will be bundled into one category to create a single flat fixed rate. After further discussion, the Board will not at this time pursue establishing a fund to assist with private resident costs associated with repairing water, sanitary or sewer utility lateral service lines.
  • Gave final approval to a final site plan review for North Shore Country Club, 1340 Glenview Road, to allow for the renovation of an existing pool area, accessory buildings and modifications to the existing parking area.
  • Approved a member community agreement and consent to license GIS data with the GIS Consortium and the Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago, in order to share data to improve the operations and ensure data accuracy.
  • Authorized a three-year contract with Lyons Electric Company of La Grange for $230,400 to maintain the Village's 2,170 street lights and traffic signals and make as-needed repairs.
  • Approved a contract amendment with Altorfer Power Systems of Elmhurst for an additional $5,731 to replace the engine of reserve ladder truck 839.
  • Authorized a bid award to and approved a contract with DiMeo Brothers of Elk Grove Village for a total $1,379,386 to make water main, storm and sewer improvements and repave Montgomery Lane north of McArthur Drive, including Golf and Cedar courts.
  • Established a financial assistance program for local restaurants impacted by the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. In addition to waiving 2021 fees for restaurant inspections and refunding 2021 liquor license fees, which were approved January 5, the Board further approved for restaurants and brewpubs that experienced interruptions to indoor dining and reductions in year-over-year taxable sales of 25 percent and that qualified for Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) funding a refund of 50 percent of average annual 2019 local sales tax revenue, capped at $25,000.
  • Preliminarily granted a conditional use, final site plan review and preliminary subdivision approval for Crash Champions, 1650 Waukegan Road, to allow construction of a new building and related improvements for use as an automobile repair facility.
