  • Gave direction to Village staff to start the process of realigning existing resources from Fire Station 13, 831 East Lake Avenue, to the four other Village fire stations, following an extensive review process that included the Fitch and Associates Fire Department Response Utilization Study. Read details here.
  • Gave final approval to a conditional use, final site plan review and preliminary subdivision approval for Crash Champions, 1650 Waukegan Road, to allow construction of a new building and related improvements for use as an automobile repair facility.
  • Authorized an amendment to the IGA with the Illinois Office of the Comptroller that enables the Village to execute the Local Debt Recovery Program to change the chief officer designation to the Village Manager.
  • Approved a contract with G. Fisher Commercial Construction Inc. of Aurora for $174,500 to make repairs and improvements to Fire Station 14, 2250 Patriot Boulevard.
  • Authorized a three-year contract with ILT Vignocchi Inc. of Wauconda for $424,811 for annual landscape maintenance services.
  • Approved a plat of dedication for public right-of-way along Zenith Drive at 1000 Milwaukee Avenue and a related maintenance agreement regarding existing light poles and private sewer improvements. The actions will lead to Zenith Drive, currently privately owned by Abt Electronics, to becoming a public road that can divert truck traffic away from Milwaukee Avenue and help the Village coordinate long-term traffic and access improvements at the existing traffic signal.
  • Authorized the rejection of bids for work to replace defective valves in HVAC system of the Glenview Municipal Center, 2500 East Lake Avenue, in order to modify the scope of the project.
  • Preliminarily approved final site plan review and preliminary subdivision to allow construction of a 12,148-square-foot building for Glenview Center for Seniors, 3355 Milwaukee Avenue, a nonprofit senior services operation.
  • Preliminarily approved text amended to the Municipal Code to facilitate the restructuring of Village development-related commissions. The current Appearance, Historic Preservation and Plan commissions and the Zoning Board of Appeals would be consolidated into two. The Glenview Development Commission-New Development would review development requests for new developments. The Glenview Development Commission-Development Adjustments would review requests for modifications and additions to existing development as well as zoning variations for new single-family residences. Separately, the consolidation of the Building and Electrical commissions into a new hybrid Building Commission was preliminarily approved. If given final approval February 16, the new commission structure would begin July 1.
