  • Appointed Steve Bucklin as chair of the new Glenview Development Commission-New Development, and Michael Burton, Jerry Ciolek, Tom Fallon, Linda Witt, Megan McClung and Glen Tracy as commissioners.
  • Appointed Mark Demsky as chair of the new Glenview Development Commission-Development Adjustments, and Sam Friedman, Ron Greco, Gary Jung, Greg McWilliams, Harry Perl and Doug Reynolds as commissioners.
  • Held a public hearing and established Special Service Area 100 to facilitate installation of curb and gutter for North Glenayre Drive between Glenview Road and the north end of the street. Upon completion of the project, the SSA costs will be split proportionately among the participating property owners and repaid through their property tax bill over a 20-year period at an approximate interest rate of 5 percent.
  • Held a public hearing and established Special Service Area 103 to facilitate installation of curb and gutter for Beaver Lane south of Wilmette Avenue. Upon completion of the project, the SSA costs will be split proportionately among the participating property owners and repaid through their property tax bill over a 20-year period at an approximate interest rate of 5 percent.
  • Held a public hearing and established Special Service Area 104 to facilitate installation of curb and gutter for Surrey Lane and Forestview Lane south of Glenview Road. Upon completion of the project, the SSA costs will be split proportionately among the participating property owners and repaid through their property tax bill over a 20-year period at an approximate interest rate of 5 percent.
  • Gave final approval to amending the Glenview Municipal Code to increase the number of Class A liquor licenses, which authorizes the sale of all alcohol for consumption on the premises where food is sold, from 46 to 48 and Class H liquor licenses, which authorizes a Class A or B license holder to sell packages alcoholic liquor from the bar, from 7 to 8, then approved a Class A and Class H liquor license for Forza Meats, 1811 Glenview Road, and a Class A license for Blended Health and Smoothie Bar, 950 Harlem Avenue.
  • Gave final approval to amending the Glenview Municipal Code regarding fixed water and sewer fees charged by the Village, so that the fixed charge is the same for all meters that are 1-inch or smaller. These meter sizes account for 99 percent of all residential meters.
  • Awarded a contract for up to $60,839to Integrated Lakes Management of Waukegan and a contract for up to $136,165 to Tallgrass Restoration LLC of Schaumburg to maintain the Village's natural areas.
  • Authorized the use of Motor Fuel Tax appropriations for the 2021 road resurfacing and Minor Area Repair Strategy (MARS) program.
  • Authorized a one-year contract with two optional one-year extensions for up to $63,233 with Construction & Geotechnical Material Testing Inc. of Elk Grove Village for independent pavement material testing services.
  • Waived the formal bidding process and approved water barrier rental costs for up to $35,000 from Odyssey Group of Burr Ridge to support outdoor dining at The Glen Town Center.
  • Amended the existing contract for tree trimming services with Advanced Tree Care Inc. of Lincolnshire for a contract total of $281,000 for 2021 and 2022.
  • Amended the existing contract for HVAC services with YMI Group of Elk Grove Village to increase the amount to $24000 for the duration of the contract term ending June 30, 2021.
  • Approved a contract with The Stone Group Inc. of Chicago for up to $194,309 to replace utility ball valves installed at the Glenview Municipal Center in 2006 that failed and caused extensive leaking, and amended the 2021 FRRF budget to cover the cost.
  • Preliminarily established Special Service Area 106 to facilitate installation of curb and gutter for Hill Circle off Central Road. This financing method is for property owners fund capital improvements benefitting a defined area or properties. Upon completion of the project, the SSA costs will be split proportionately among the participating property owners and repaid through their property tax bill over a 10-year period at an approximate interest rate of 5 percent.
  • Preliminarily extended the temporary moratorium on new development projects in the D-D Downtown Development District to October 21, 2021. Continuing this temporary pause will allow time to study and make desired adjustments to the Village's downtown regulations to align with recommendations coming from the Glenview Connect process, which aims to create and implement an Economic Development Strategic Plan and an update to the Downtown Revitalization Plan.
