Actions:

  • Held a public hearing and preliminarily established Special Service Area 106, effective July 17, 2021, to facilitate installation of curb and gutter on Hill Circle, north of Central Road, as part of stormwater system improvements being made through the Capital Improvement Program
  • Gave final approval to amending the Glenview Municipal Code to increase the number of Class A liquor license from 50 to 51 to facilitate an application from Riobamba Latin Kitchen, 1869 Waukegan Road.
  • Appointed Village President Mike Jenny as a delegate to the Northwest Municipal Conference and Village Manager Matt Formica as an alternate delegate.
  • Appointed Village Manager Matt Formica as director on the Solid Waste Agency of Northern Cook County Board of Directors for a term from May 1, 2021 to April 30, 2023, and Trustee Mary Cooper as alternate director for the same period.
  • Approved a two-year extension of the water supply agreement with the Illinois-American Water Company, a private utility system operating a water system west of Glenview, to purchase Lake Michigan water, and authorized negotiations with IAWC for a new long-term service agreement.
  • Authorized a three-year contract with an optional three-year extension to Wachs Water Service of Columbia, Md. For $156,093 to annually test and evaluate the condition of 3,000 main line water distribution valves in the Village's water system to ensure the devices are operable and accessible.
  • Authorized execution of one-year contract extensions for water and sewer parts with Core and Maine of Lake Bluff; Joseph D. Foreman and Co. of Lake Barrington; Water Products Co. of Aurora; Mid-Americans Water of Wauconda; and Ziebell Water Services Products of Elk Grove Village to maintain and repair the Village's water, sanitary and storm sewer systems.
  • Authorized Cordogan Clark and Associates of Aurora to complete design services for repairs to the masonry, roof and HVAC systems at the West Lake Pump Station, at the corner of West Lake Avenue and Pfingsten Road, for up to $97,300.
  • Authorized a three-year contract with Concentric Integration of Crystal Lake to provide programming, maintenance and as-needed repairs for the Village's Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) computer system, which can detect inconsistencies at the Village's 22 utility sites, provide alerts and alarms, and allow staff to remotely monitor, track nd update this critical local infrastructure.
  • Authorized execution of a three-year contract with Consulting Engineers Inc. of Strongville, Ohio for water system leak detection and survey services. This service was jointly bid with three other municipalities as part of the Municipal Partnering Initiative.
  • Approved a plat of subdivision to create two new lots of record to accommodate demolition of an existing residence at 1705 Greenwood Road and construct two new single-family detached residences.
  • Agreed to pay $63,016 for the annual Northeastern Illinois Regional Crime Laboratory membership assessment for 2021-22 and $3,000 for the Intergovernmental Butterfield maintenance agreement.
  • Authorized execution of a professional services contract with Public Communications Inc. for interim communication support for $9,550 per month from June through December 2021 until a Community Engagement Director is hired.
  • Unanimously rejected rezoning, final site plan review and preliminary subdivision for the Willows Crossing Shopping Center, 2660 Pfingsten Road. The applicant had been seeking to construct four new single-story retail buildings on the 8.38 acres, which has been vacant after an original residence and accessory building on the property were razed in spring 2020.
