Fir Street Improvement Project
Resurfaced Road
 

The proposed Fir Street project includes approximately 1,200 feet of improvements from Shermer Road to the east cul-de-sac, and approximately 130 feet of improvements on the south half of Cedar wood Lane just north of Fir Street.

The following major improvements are included in this project:


  • Replacement of existing 1,200 of water main with new 8-inch diameter Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC) water main, including new 1.5-inch water services and new b-boxes.
  • Storm sewer improvements including installation of 800 feet of 12-inch and 16-inch storm sewer, new storm sewer service stubs, and new catch basins
  • Sanitary service replacements.
  • Roadway reconstruction with new asphalt pavement, including new curb and gutter through a Special Service Area (SSA).
  • Driveway apron replacement (in-kind).
  • Parkway restoration with sod.
Tentative Schedule
  • Design Open House: October 17, 2024
  • First consideration of an ordinance proposing the establishment of SSA 107: October 15, 2024
  • Second consideration of an ordinance proposing the establishment of SSA 107: November 7, 2024
  • Contract award: January 7, 2025
  • First consideration of an ordinance establishing SSA 107: February 4, 2025
  • Second consideration of an ordinance establishing SSA 107: February 18, 2025
  • Pre-construction resident meeting: February 25, 2025
  • Anticipated start date: March 2025
  • Anticipated construction completion date: July 2025
