The proposed project includes approximately 875 feet of streambank stabilization along the south bank of the West Fork North Branch Chicago River.


The following major improvements are included in this project:


  • Stone toe streambank stabilization with a stone armoring treatment from the toe of the slope and native vegetation at the top of the slow overbank areas. The project will use rounded river stone similar to other improvements along the river.
  • Installation of two riffle structures.
  • Planting of over 30 trees and shrubs.
  • Native restoration of a vacant .40 acre parcel.
Tentative Schedule
  • Bid award date – Anticipated January 9, 2024 
  • Resident pre-construction meeting – February 15, 2024
  • Approximate starting date of construction – March 4, 2024
  • Approximate completion of construction – April 2024


Schedule may be revised due to inclement weather or other unforeseen circumstances.


Work hours are 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday. Work outside these hours will require Village approval.​​​​​
