Longvalley Streambank Stabilization

The contractor finished stabilizing the bank slope including erosion control blanket and seeding.  

The next and final phase of the project is planting of new trees and shrubs. We anticipate the contractor to complete some of the planting to the week of May 28th. Afterwards volunteers from the community will complete the rest of the plantings, as this is a requirement of the grant funding received for this project.

The contractor finished excavation and stabilization of the new bank slope including erosion control blanket and seeding.

There will be no work scheduled until new plantings have arrived at the job site, at which point the contractor will be planting new trees and shrubs as a part of the restoration. We anticipate the planting to begin near the end of May.

During the week of April 22, 2024, the contractor finished excavation and stabilization of the new bank slope. In order to stabilize the streambank, the contractor began installing round rock along the river slope and riverbed. The contractor will then finish taking the necessary precautions to stabilize the streambank and provide proper erosion control measures prior to beginning the excavation and earth moving construction activities. 

During the week of April 29, 2024, there will be no work schedule until new plantings have arrived at the job site, at which point the contractor will be planting new trees and shrubs as a part of the restoration.

During the week of April 15, 2024, the contractor continued excavation and stabilization of the new bank slope. In order to stabilize the streambank, the contractor began installing round rock along the river slope and riverbed. The contractor has taken the necessary precautions to stabilize the streambank and provide proper erosion control measures prior to beginning the excavation and earth moving construction activities. They began excavation at the west end and work east. You may see a second crew out working on the streambank stabilization, this was decided to help expedite the project due to the numerous weather delays.

During the week of April 22, 2024, the contractor will continue excavation and stabilization of the new bank slope.
